Stackplate Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Stackplate handles personal data. It covers the information required by the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”, Article 10) and, for users in the European Economic Area, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”, Article 13).
1. Who is responsible
Your personal data is handled by Abdullah Emin Esen (“Stackplate”, “we”) as data controller.

2. In short
- You can use Stackplate without an account. We collect no name or email from visitors without one.
- Fridge, pantry and menu photos are not stored. A photo is used only to recognise ingredients or read a menu and is discarded afterwards.
- We never see or store card or payment details.
- We use no advertising, marketing or tracking cookies, pixels or analytics.
- We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

With Google sign-in we ask Google only for openid, email and profile. We cannot see your Google password, email, files or contacts.
3.3. Plus subscribers

Purchase details such as your name, billing address, country, tax details and payment method are collected and processed by Polar as the merchant of record and are not stored in Stackplate’s database. Polar’s processing is governed by its own privacy policy: https://polar.sh/legal/privacy

The sponsor’s name, tagline, link and logo are shown publicly on the Site. Without a logo, the website’s icon (favicon) is shown through Google’s favicon service.
3.5. When you write to us
When you email us, your email address, name and message are used to answer you and kept as a record in case of legal claims (legitimate interest; establishing, exercising or defending a right, 5/2-e).

Before it is published, and to translate it for readers in other languages, your comment text is sent without your identity to AI providers. Comments that are not accepted are not stored.
3.7. Special categories of data
We do not aim to collect special categories of data (health, religion, biometrics, etc.). Dish names or ingredients you search for may hint at dietary choices; they are processed without any link to your account. Please do not upload photos showing people or personal documents.
4. How photo recognition and menu reading work
- The photo is resized and re-encoded in your browser, which removes metadata such as location (GPS), device and capture date.
- The resized photo goes through Stackplate’s server to one AI provider (listed in section 5), which returns the list of foods and ingredients it sees, or the translated dishes on a menu.
- The photo is not saved in our database or file storage; it is dropped from server memory when the request ends.
- AI providers may keep data sent through their APIs for a limited time under their own terms to monitor abuse.
5. Who receives data
Personal data is shared only as far as needed to run the Service, with these service providers (processors):

Otherwise we share personal data only with authorities on a lawful request and as far as the law requires.
6. Transfers abroad
Most of these providers are outside Türkiye, mainly in the United States. Transfers abroad are made in line with the safeguards set out in Article 9 of KVKK and, for the GDPR, under the providers’ Standard Contractual Clauses or their commitments under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Data past its retention period is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.
8. Security
- The Site is served only over HTTPS.
- Session and sign-in cookies are cryptographically signed, unreadable by page scripts (HttpOnly), sent only over encrypted connections (Secure) and not attached to requests from other sites (SameSite=Lax).
- Google sign-in uses PKCE and state checks; no passwords are used or stored.
- Admin actions are protected by a strong access key.
- Payment notifications (webhooks) are accepted only with a valid signature.
- API keys and secrets live in the host’s encrypted environment settings, not in the source code.
- Rate limits block automated attacks.
- Access to data is limited to what running the Service requires.
9. Cookies
Stackplate uses only cookies that the Service needs to work. See the Cookie Policy for details.
10. Automated decisions
Applying usage limits, recognising ingredients in photos, reading menus and the first decision on whether a comment is published are automated. None of these has legal effects on you; if a comment of yours was not published, write to esenabdullahemin@gmail.com and a person will review it.
11. Children
The Service is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. Users under 18 should use it with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. If you learn that a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
12. Your rights (KVKK Art. 11 · GDPR Art. 15–22)
You have the right to learn whether your data is processed and to request information about it; to learn the purpose and whether it is used accordingly; to know the recipients in Türkiye or abroad; to have incomplete or wrong data corrected; to have it deleted or destroyed under the conditions of KVKK Article 7; to have corrections and deletions passed on to recipients; to object to an outcome against you that results solely from automated analysis; and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. Users in the European Economic Area also have the rights to data portability, to restrict processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to complain to their local data protection authority.
How to ask: email esenabdullahemin@gmail.com from the address on your account, so we can verify it is you. We answer free of charge within 30 days. If your request is refused, the answer is insufficient or we do not answer in time, you can complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board (KVKK).
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always at getstackplate.com/privacy. Material changes are announced on the Site and may be emailed to account holders.
If this translation and the Turkish text differ, the Turkish text prevails.

Bu metin, 6698 sayılı Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kanunu (“KVKK”) m.10 ve Aydınlatma Yükümlülüğünün Yerine Getirilmesinde Uyulacak Usul ve Esaslar Hakkında Tebliğ uyarınca hazırlanmıştır. Avrupa Ekonomik Alanı’ndaki kullanıcılar için Genel Veri Koruma Tüzüğü (“GDPR”) m.13 kapsamındaki bilgileri de içerir.

- Stackplate’i hesap açmadan kullanabilirsin. Hesap açmayan ziyaretçiler hakkında ad veya e-posta gibi kimlik bilgisi toplamayız.
- Buzdolabı, kiler ve menü fotoğrafları kaydedilmez. Fotoğraf yalnızca malzemeleri tanımak veya menüyü okumak için işlenir ve işlem bitince atılır.
- Kart ve ödeme bilgilerini hiçbir zaman görmez ve saklamayız.
- Reklam, pazarlama veya kullanıcı takibi için çerez, piksel ya da analiz aracı kullanmayız.
- Kişisel verilerini satmayız ve reklam amacıyla paylaşmayız.

E-posta ile yazdığında e-posta adresin, adın ve mesajının içeriği, talebini yanıtlamak ve hukuki taleplere karşı kayıt tutmak amacıyla işlenir (meşru menfaat; bir hakkın tesisi, kullanılması veya korunması, m.5/2-e).

Yorumun, yayınlanmadan önce uygunluk kontrolü için ve diğer okuyucuların diline çevrilmek için, kimlik bilgin olmadan yapay zeka sağlayıcılarına gönderilir. Uygun bulunmayan yorumlar kaydedilmez.
3.7. Özel nitelikli kişisel veriler
Stackplate özel nitelikli kişisel veri (sağlık, din, biyometrik veri vb.) toplamayı amaçlamaz. Arama kutusuna yazılan yemek adları veya malzemeler dolaylı olarak beslenme tercihlerini gösterebilir; bu metinler hesabınla ilişkilendirilmeden işlenir. Fotoğraflara insan yüzü veya kişisel belge içeren görüntü yüklememeni rica ederiz.
4. Fotoğrafla Tanıma ve Menü Okuma Nasıl Çalışır
- Fotoğraf seçildiğinde tarayıcında küçültülür ve yeniden kodlanır. Bu işlem, fotoğrafın içindeki konum (GPS), cihaz ve çekim tarihi gibi meta verileri siler.
- Küçültülmüş fotoğraf, Stackplate sunucusu üzerinden bir yapay zeka sağlayıcısına (Madde 5’te sayılanlardan biri) gönderilir. Sağlayıcı, fotoğraftaki yiyecek ve malzemelerin listesini ya da menüdeki yemeklerin çevirisini döndürür.
- Fotoğraf Stackplate’in veritabanına veya dosya depolamasına kaydedilmez; istek tamamlandığında sunucu belleğinden silinir.
- Yapay zeka sağlayıcıları, API üzerinden gönderilen verileri kendi koşulları çerçevesinde kötüye kullanımı izlemek amacıyla sınırlı bir süre saklayabilir.

Bunların dışında kişisel verilerin, yalnızca yetkili kamu kurum ve kuruluşlarının hukuka uygun talepleri üzerine ve kanunen zorunlu olduğu ölçüde paylaşılır.
6. Yurt Dışına Aktarım
Yukarıdaki sağlayıcıların önemli bir kısmı Türkiye dışında, çoğunlukla Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde bulunmaktadır. Kişisel verilerin yurt dışına aktarımı, KVKK m.9’da öngörülen güvencelere uygun olarak ve GDPR bakımından sağlayıcıların standart sözleşme maddeleri (SCC) veya AB-ABD Veri Gizliliği Çerçevesi kapsamındaki taahhütleriyle gerçekleştirilir.

Saklama süresi dolan veriler silinir, yok edilir veya anonim hale getirilir.
8. Veri Güvenliği
Kişisel verilerin korunması için şu teknik ve idari tedbirler alınır:
- Site’ye yalnızca şifreli bağlantı (HTTPS) ile erişilir;
- Oturum ve giriş çerezleri kriptografik olarak imzalanır; JavaScript tarafından okunamaz (HttpOnly), yalnızca şifreli bağlantıda gönderilir (Secure) ve başka sitelerden gelen isteklere eklenmez (SameSite=Lax);
- Google ile giriş, PKCE ve durum doğrulaması ile yapılır; şifre kullanılmaz ve saklanmaz;
- Yönetici işlemleri güçlü bir erişim anahtarıyla korunur;
- Ödeme bildirimleri (webhook) imza doğrulamasıyla kabul edilir;
- API anahtarları ve gizli bilgiler kaynak kodda değil, barındırma sağlayıcısının şifreli ortam değişkenlerinde tutulur;
- İstek sınırları ile otomatik saldırılar engellenir;
- Verilere erişim, Hizmet’i işletmek için zorunlu olanla sınırlıdır.
9. Çerezler
Stackplate yalnızca Hizmet’in çalışması için zorunlu çerezleri kullanır. Ayrıntılar Çerez Politikası’nda yer alır.
10. Otomatik Karar Verme
Kullanım sınırlarının uygulanması, fotoğraftaki malzemelerin tanınması, menülerin okunması ve yorumların yayınlanıp yayınlanmayacağına dair ilk karar otomatik sistemlerle verilir. Bu kararlar hakkında hukuki sonuç doğurmaz; yayınlanmayan bir yorumla ilgili itirazını esenabdullahemin@gmail.com adresine iletebilirsin, bir kişi tarafından incelenir. Profil oluşturma veya kişiselleştirilmiş reklam yapılmaz.
11. Çocuklar
Hizmet 13 yaşından küçük çocuklara yönelik değildir ve bilerek 13 yaşından küçüklerden kişisel veri toplanmaz. 18 yaşından küçükler Hizmet’i veli veya vasilerinin izniyle kullanmalıdır. 13 yaşından küçük bir çocuğun hesap açtığını fark edersen bize bildir; hesap silinir.
12. Hakların (KVKK m.11 · GDPR m.15–22)
Kişisel verilerinle ilgili olarak:
a) Kişisel verilerinin işlenip işlenmediğini öğrenme,
b) İşlenmişse buna ilişkin bilgi talep etme,
c) İşlenme amacını ve bunların amacına uygun kullanılıp kullanılmadığını öğrenme,
ç) Yurt içinde veya yurt dışında kişisel verilerin aktarıldığı üçüncü kişileri bilme,
d) Eksik veya yanlış işlenmiş olması halinde bunların düzeltilmesini isteme,
e) KVKK m.7’de öngörülen şartlar çerçevesinde silinmesini veya yok edilmesini isteme,
f) (d) ve (e) bentleri uyarınca yapılan işlemlerin, kişisel verilerin aktarıldığı üçüncü kişilere bildirilmesini isteme,
g) İşlenen verilerin münhasıran otomatik sistemler vasıtasıyla analiz edilmesi suretiyle aleyhine bir sonucun ortaya çıkmasına itiraz etme,
ğ) Kişisel verilerin kanuna aykırı olarak işlenmesi sebebiyle zarara uğraman halinde zararın giderilmesini talep etme
haklarına sahipsin. Avrupa Ekonomik Alanı’ndaki kullanıcılar ayrıca verilerin taşınabilirliğini isteme, işlemeyi kısıtlama ve meşru menfaate dayalı işlemeye itiraz etme haklarına ve yerel veri koruma otoritesine şikayette bulunma hakkına sahiptir.
Başvuru yolu: Taleplerini, kimliğini doğrulamamızı sağlayacak şekilde, hesabına kayıtlı e-posta adresinden esenabdullahemin@gmail.com adresine gönderebilirsin. Başvurular en geç 30 gün içinde ücretsiz olarak sonuçlandırılır. Başvurunun reddedilmesi, verilen cevabın yetersiz bulunması veya süresinde cevap verilmemesi halinde Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu’na şikayette bulunabilirsin.
13. Değişiklikler
Bu metni güncelleyebiliriz. Güncel metin her zaman getstackplate.com/privacy adresinde yayınlanır. Esaslı değişiklikler Site’de duyurulur ve hesabı olan kullanıcılara e-posta ile bildirilebilir.
